Sensory Walk for Mindfulness

I believe in the type of healing that is nurtured by healthy interaction with the earth. Walking in nature is a great way to reduce anxiety and stress. A walk can also be an opportunity for learning and practicing mindfulness.

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the moment you are in and noticing what is around you. One great way to practice mindfulness is to use all of your senses during your nature walk. The double benefit of mindfulness and contact with nature can do wonders for your stress levels and happiness.

What can you do:

-Touch the Bark of two different trees

-Find a Rock that sparkles

-Feel the Wind in your Face

-Smell a Flower

-Listen to a bird chirping, or the wind moving the leaves of a tree, or the sound the leaves make when you walk on them.

-Taste natural water of spring, rain or taste a garden herb

I love engaging with nature, I feel calmer afterward. I invite you to do it too!
